Help Please... I'm trying to plan a 5 day trip this summer arriving via the euro tunnel in to Calais.
We are looking to ride day 1 from Calais to Cologne but I have no road knowledge for Germany.
I'm then looking to take the group on day 2 from Cologne to Baden-Baden.
The plan is to spend all of day 3 in Baden-Baden.
The return route will be either through France or back the way we've come.
I would really appreciate any route suggestions and just as importantly the time it will take to make those leaps from location to location.
We are all experienced riders.
Thanks very much. D.

There are not that many good roads between Calais and Cologne, or Cologne down towards Stuttgart. When we head for the Black Forest we tend to do the French Autoroutes and get there in one day. It's a boring slog but gets us to the great roads a day sooner. 6 to 7 hours on a motorway is no worse than 6 to 7 hours on flat, straight, poorly surfaced, congested roads and you'd have to do the latter for 2 days instead of one.

Hi DCG, You can take a more leisurely ride going to Luxembourg staying in Vianden, from there you can reach Baden Baden in the Black Forest by mid afternoon,

Totally agree with the above suggestion. Vianden (or Echternach) in Luxembourg are much better stopovers and nearer than Cologne. From here drop onto the Autobahns at Trier and be in Baden Baden mid-afternoon. South of BB is the fab B500 and there's plenty of good accomodation nearby. Baden Baden is big, pretty spa town but a bit pricey.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. It's all taken on board and greatly appreciated. Albeit the trip is likely delayed now, damn it.
