Its alright. Nice long corners. Easy to practice positioning & vanishing point. Scenery good, open fields and hills. Saw 2 police vehicles on a Thursday. Not a huge amount of fun however. In a similar area, the B4521 from Aber to Ross is much better: less traffic, better corners, more rural, more fun!
In my honest opinion this route is only just about average. Yes there are loads of good straights and fast sweeping corners but there is also a high chance of getting pulled for speeding so it kind of takes the fun out of it, unless you like the risk of getting caught that is. Saying that, the scenery can be great at times and makes a nice relaxing ride if youre in the mood for a quiet one.
This route is in fact so good, that the police driver training courses use it. You can spot them at the bus station cafe in Abergavenny before you return.
Good road, but the police love it too!! Watch out ......
Lots of open medium/high speed corners with good visibility.
