Very nice ride with beautiful landscape. Unfortunately in some spots (e.g., beginning of R115) the road conditions are far from ideal.
This is a route favoured as the sunday morning spin of choice by many dublin bikers. The biker breakfast industry in Laragh accounts for 23% of the towns GDP. For the visitor, within half a mile of Laragh is the monastry of St. Kevin at Glendalough and is worth a visit (contains an excellent example of Irelands attempts to lead the space race with the only known example of a stone age rocket... Google Glendalough to see what I am talking about...) the return leg brings you accross the bog twixt Sally Gap and Kippure And back to Tallagh ia Glencree and Bohernabreena. There are also many routes which cross over in that area including Braveheart Drive where the battle scenes (including that where the soldiers showed their arses.. I think it;s called mooning) and Lough Dann and in through Annamoe, where John Boorman, Charlies Dad lives and where charlie grew spent some time growing up. Enjoy! QTour
