Since the introduction of the speed limits only renegade riders tend to use this route to its full potential.
Yep, like so many nice little former NSL rural roads the Alkham Valley now suffers from the dreaded 'pointless speed limitation' plague which seems to be affecting the entire country. :o(
Great road but has now had speed limits put in for approx 3/4 of its length. About a mile Folkestone side of Alkham village it goes to 40mph and then to fifty Dover side all the way to the end. Police presence has increased since this was put in. Beware!
A short but great bit of road, nice bends and cambers although a couple of bends and junctions have poor visibility. Used as an alternative route from Folkestone to Dover by all the local bikers coz it's so much fun on the twisties! One of those roads that just gets better and better as you learn it. You can't see the road on the map at this definition but it's certainly there.
