Part of the Scotish SW west coastal loop. Police presents but only trapping people on the motorway, they are positioned on the bridge usually whee the B719 crosses the A(M)74. Use this route to take you west to the coast, some excellent straights initially which get to the B740 where the fun starts. This is the best section by far, good surface, fast flowing bends and undulations with good visibility. Be warned however, plenty of cattle grids and livestock, especially during lambing (make shift caution signs by farmers). After this B741 is abit treacherous and needs resurfacing on many sections. Follow your nose from this point on to the beach at Girvan. Good and very cheap sandwich hut on beach ready for your arrival. From here it´s a good place to head south along the coast toward Port Patrick if your doing the SW coastal route (Caution average speed check cams).
