Another awesome one
Excellent route. One of the MUST DO passes in the Alps. Just rode it at the start of April 2009. Loads of snow, but the roads were bone dry, no ice and in excellent condition. (How can they do that, yet Britain comes to a stand still in 2 of snow????) Go for Breakfast in Austria, Lunch in Itally, coffee in Switzerland and back for dinner in Austria.
This route is phenomenal, you can ride at a pace to suit yourself, no nasty surprises so long as you read the road ahead and be ready for the unforseeable. There is an excellent shop / restaurant at the top where the cyclists load up with carbohydrates. Links well to the Stelvio pass if you take a right at Santa Maria. Well worht going out of your way to do this one. Gavin
