It is a truly great route, though the comparison to the ring of Kerry is a bit misleading. The RoK is big easy roads, which are busy. the RoB is smaller roads especially on the North side, which has many tight turns. When I rode it, the road surface was breaking up in the heat (hot summer of 2013). The views are spectacular, but the ride was quite physical.
This review is a bit lacking, the Beara Penninsula is a must do route if in Ireland, it has about a quarter of the traffic of the ring of kerry and is just as spectacular, stop off in Allihies and ebnjoy a night out at one of the Bars. Plenty of accmodation.MUST DO.. Should be RED
Scenic & challenging in places
