better than average A road on the border of Surrey/Berkshire; pay attention to blind spots (loads of them) and traffic can be heavy at times; nice scenery, next to windsor great park, and a commuter link road for many of the villages and towns in the area, hence, a bit busy at times....
All in all a nice ride round the area but the condition of the roads is a really big let down as there are some really nice bends and corners to go through and give it some if it wasnt for the pot holes and general bad up-keep.
I used to travel this route to work and back for approx 4 years. Its can be a very technical route from a saftey aswell as speed/corners point of view.Be carefull. The other traffic using it actaully adds to the excitment when conditions are right. Best time to travel it is from day break to approx 6.30am on a nice summer morning. Keep safe.
This road can be a little hairy at times, especially when busy so avoid rush hours. It's part of a regular short lap I take around my house and surroundings, and it's certainly the most exciting part. Keep your speed reasonable and plan overtakes early and it's fine. I usually try and take the A332 (Sheet Street Road) from Ascot to Windsor after this road to take in a beautiful views of the park and then some fast sweeping corners on the A308 from Windsor to Egham and Staines. There are cameras in Ascot and Windsor, 30 and 40 limits respectively so take care through the towns, but it's usually safe to open up when you're out of the urban roads.
I use it a lot. A bit dangerous, but good. Beware of OAPs who appear to park just over the crest of the hill at the Polo Centre. My rear tyre was 4 ft off the road.
I drive this road every day and always with caution, its busy at all times and potential for an accident is high. Plenty of blind bends.
Some nice corners although double white lines limit overtaking in places. Also I suspect busy at peak times.
