Came over from the UK and hired a Ducati Monster for 2 days whilst the family was shopping. SO glad I found this route, what a fantastic ride!
Scenery was great and I couldn\'t believe how remote and good a road was, so close to LA.
Took it fairly easy on teh way out (getting used to the bike), plenty great bends although some slippy tar used to fill in road cracks.
Nice biker friendly cafe half way up, though make sure you have plenty fuel, I was on the light for 22 miles!
Carry on to Wrightwood for a little blast at the end and you can get fueled up there.
On the way back over, just blasted it, still grinning about it over two weeks later. Some rocks on the road to keep you sharp but little traffic and no police.
Manged to get one of the 25mph advisory signs to flash up 86!!
Absolutely fantastic ride, so close to LA. Ducati Monster was great for the job, totally felt at one with the machine.
If you have a spare half day in LA, do yourself a favour, ditch the family, do this ride and come back buzzing... I did.

I cant believe Im the first to review this spectacular SoCal road! This road is one of the main reasons why motorcyclist love SoCal!

Angeles Crest (Hwy 2) begins just north of the 210. Most riders gas up at the nearby station and get ready for an E ticket ride.

On weekends cops and squids are all over the place. The best times to run this are on the weekdays.

During winter it can get quite chilly even when its warm in the city. Bring an extra layer and some warm gloves.

Also during winter, they dump volcanic rock on the roads to keep the snow and ice in check. The edges can retain the gravel for a long time.

Otherwise, during the week, there are still cops, but dont make a complete arse or show of yourself and theyll leave you alone.

Be sure to also stop by Newcombs Ranch for an awesome meal.

This is not a road for beginners. Even experienced riders crash here. Take it easy the first time.

There are lots of fun off shoots too! Just a few are Angeles Forest and Big & Little Tujunga.

Plan most of one day for this one.
