Great little loop into edge of the Dales and back with some lovely roads and views
MCR group ride
I will be taking part in the Ride Sunday charity event.
This is a global event and involves riders from across the world riding and raising money for their chosen charities.
I shall be riding for the Movember foundation, and taking part in the longest ride I have ever completed.
If you would like to find out more, donate or join me on this ride, please see below.

Best ride ever

a ride to Squires Cafe Bar the long way round
This is my favourite route near to home, I have ridden this route many times and still enjoy it, lots of fast straights, sweeping corners and twisties, the road parallel to the A1 is nice, but watch out for deer sneaking out of the hedgerows at dusk.
1-5-2 hours to Lincoln stop for lunch then 2.5-3.5 to Whitby
Not so well known nice little stretch
This route is one of my favourite route around Yorkshire and the Peak district. Starting at The Fairway Hotel Dodworth Barnsley travelling via Peniston, Holmefirth Glossop. There is a very nice Cafe in Glossop (Glossop cafeteria) then via Chaple-en-la-frith, Castleton, Ladybower, Sheffield and then back to the Fairway Hotel at Barnsley.
The views are outstanding roads are good there is the usual hazards of police mainly on the A57 but I don't see this route as a fast ride it's all about the pleasant views and nice roads for me.
You don't need to go fast to have fun and enjoy the roads.
a cracking run around Nidderdale with optional stops in Pateley- (chippy) or the Sun Inn. includes an insanely quick section of straights and good road surface from way up in Greenhow village back down to the A59, generally good visibility for farm traffic but watch the blind summits
One of my favorite routes.
A good road to get your teeth into. A mixture of rural villages and a small amount of open wide A Roads. The section from Gainsborough through Blyton is a little slow but turning onto the B1205 to Kirton Lindsay is unmissable. The bends near to Waddingham are particularly good. End the route at Cider Factory/Museum at Brandy Wharfe, maybe stop for refreshments, they serve tea and coffee as well as cider!!
Excellent Mixed route when you have 60 mins to spare. A few decent places to stop for a Shandy or a cuppa and a good combination of bends and straights with the odd trip through a village to link them all up. Also a decent run whichever way round you ride it.
The back roads from Skipton to Hebden. Mostly narrow B roads with little traffic during the day, not one single camera to worry about. From Skipton end the roads can be quite quick and smooth flowing and as you get into the back of Oakworth/Stanbury it gets a bit choppy but quite good surfaces. From Oxenhope to Hebden Bridge its twisty and it can get busier as you get near Hebden.
amazing long day trip or a fantastic weekend camping route lots of fun either way
This is a nice frequent run over to Glossop Cafeteria for a cuppa the home via A57 Snake pass.
