Zimbabwe is today completely dollarised i.e. the USD is the only currency you require. Easiest to access this ride from South Africa by travelling through Beit Bridge and past the site of the Zimbabwe ruins on the A10 to Triangle. The route described starts in the South East cane belt of Zimbabwe in a small town called Chiredzi, and runs up the Eastern Highland spine through Mutare. The scenery is spectacular in spots, with some vistas across to Mocambique. The Chimanimani area is particularly beautiful. Accommodation is rudimentary, but the firendliness of locals will make up for any discomfort.
