Great costal road with mountain and sea views. Did on a Sunday, lots of bikers but also a lot of police trying to catch the speeders...

Since 2008/9 the parallel motorway is finished and since then the road got a new surface, which is perfect.
During summer watch out for tourist cars visiting the beaches.
Great ride along the coast, some really fast locals on the weekends, one of my favourites!

I used to ride from Nerja to Almunecar every day for work. This stretch of road is fantastic. You won't need to worry about a square tyre as it is simply corner after corner after corner. The police were rarely around when I was doing the run, although there were issues with all the work that was happening for the new motorway - lower speed limits and mud on the road. Some of the corners just keep going and they are fantastic to help build confidence. If you are in the area and have the chance it is well worth a visit.

Take the main route out of Nerja along the coast road (N340). The first section is fast & flowing and used by the local bikers for a spot of road racing so watch those mirrors. The road is wide with a quite a few of uphill two lane stretches so you can keep the gas on. Good scenary for those who are bothered, but this is a riders road. La Herradura is worth a drop in and if your feeling brave, head inland from Almunecar to Otivar and onto Granada via some tight & twisties road through National Parks or continue along the N340 to Castell del Ferro (an interesting fishing village) for lunch & then ride onto Berja.
